KolomMedia. A 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Sawai, Seram Island, Maluku. The epicenter was on land.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) via its official Twitter account, @infoBMKG, said the earthquake occurred on Tuesday (12/18/2018) at 07.01 WIB.

"The epicenter was on land 22 km southeast of Sawai," the BMKG wrote.
This earthquake is at a depth of 10 km. While the earthquake coordinates are at 3.14 South Latitude and 129.25 East Longitude.

The felt earthquake (MMI) on a scale II-III in Amahai, Central Maluku. Scale II means that vibrations are felt by some people and light objects are hanging swaying. While the MMI III vibration scale was felt in the house as if a truck had passed.

There has been no information regarding the impact of the earthquake on the community.
